The GHRG-ST team travelled to B.K.L. Walawalker Rural Medical College,
Chiplun, Indiato attend the Association of Rural Surgeons of India’s 26^thAnnual National Conference and held the 2^ndAnnual GHRG-ST Stakeholder Meeting at the college.

Prof David Jayne and Noel Aruparayil presented the work of the group at the ARSICON conference, the GHRG-ST conference took place on the 25^thNovember 2018.

 

The GHRG-ST annual meeting morning session was split into two parallel sessions, the first one was Engineering Innovations for Global Surgery in the Rural Setting and the second was Training of Gasless Laparoscopic Surgical Techniques.  In the afternoon there was a mixture of lectures and workshops.

The GHRG-ST annual meeting was attended by 50 attendees from India and the UK.  Our next annual meeting will be held in Sierra Leone at the end of this year.

The Bhalukpong Hope Health Centre recently undertook a charitable diagnostic medical and surgical camp from 19th – 27th October 2018.  The objective was to take healthcare to patients in very remote villages.

The camp was led by our principle investigator in North East India, Dr Jesudian Gnanaraj and Dr Jumsang Sidisow from Hope Health Centre in Arunachal Pradesh
