Surgery could be extended to billions of people with medical equipment that is manufactured at low cost, is simple to use and easily maintained.
The team, led by researchers in GHRG, have designed a simplified surgical tool for performing laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, the result is that laparoscopic surgery can now be carried out in clinics and hospitals where it was not possible before.
